Charging Mobile Phone by Moving Fingers

Charging Mobile Phone by Moving Fingers is the latest research by the Scientists. With the advancement in technology, scientists are working hard to invent things that can help mankind in decreasing their efforts. If we look around and see modern products, we cannot deny that scientists have been successful in doing their best. With the help of artificial intelligence, the use of manpower has been lessened. That’s why science is more focusing on artificial intelligence to get the time taking tasks done in no time.

Experts from the Chinese University of Sciences and University of Buffalo, America, jointly made an instrument through which you can charge your mobile phone with the movements of your fingers.

Baidu has been working on voices and sounds with the help of artificial intelligence for a long time. It is now capable to change male voice into a female and female voice into a male. It can change American accent to British and Chinese accent into Japanese. This artificial intelligence-based software is named as ‘Deep Voice’.

This team has made a triboelectric generator in the form of small discs that are capable to charge the battery of a mobile phone by just moving a finger. A small disc used in this phenomenon uses the principle of “triboelectric effect” to produce electricity with the help of friction between the two layers. According to the engineers, static electricity is also kind of triboelectric power.

Chinese and American experts with the help of gold and PDMS prepared thin layers and placed them together. When gold is stretched it comes back to its original state with a thin swelling on it. When it is molded again, friction is produced between gold and PDMS results in producing a small amount of electricity.

An expert from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Mr. Yon Yo said: “The electrons move to and fro between the gold plates”. More friction between the materials results in producing more electricity.

Its initial prototype model is 1.5 cm long, 1 cm wide and can successfully produce 124 volts electricity. It can produce electricity of 0.22 milliwatt per square centimeter on the basis of 10 microamperes. This power is enough to charge a battery of a cell phone of any capacity. While performing the experiment, the engineers have illuminated 48 LEDs at a time.

The production cost of this triboelectric generator is very low, and on its basis, a small generator can be easily prepared.

A researcher Jia Kiang Gain has said that charging the small devices is a big issue and a wire is needed to get it charged. With the help of human force, devices can be charged instantly.
